Water Softening For Hardness and Iron Removal

Calcium and magnesium ions in water create hardness that can be detrimental to any water heating appliance including copper pipework.  The hardness attracts to heating elements resulting in reduced efficiency, costly repairs and even premature failure. Hardness also causes soap scum in baths and showers and spots on glass and ceramics with detergents being less effective in doing their job.
