Davey Water Products was announced as the winner in the large business category of the Victorian Premiers Awards 2008 for Sustainability. “The Premier’s Sustainability Awards aim to encourage and reward excellence and innovation in reducing our environmental footprint while creating economic and social benefits,” Premier John Brumby said. “The Brumby Government is committed to supporting Victorians who demonstrate innovation in tackling climate change through sustainable projects and these awards recognise their commitment.”
Davey's award recognises:
- Reducing our potable water use by 50% by harvesting rain
- Reducing our landfill by 82%
- Recycling 100% of our metal waste
- Reducing our Green House Gas production by 30% per pump produced
- Introducing revolutionary sustainability products such as Celsior, RainBank and Silensor.
- Training over 5,000 plumbers in rainwater harvesting technology
- Actively promoting the metropolitan rainwater harvesting
